Shannon Grady M.S., Exercise Physiology M.T., Massage Therapist P.E.S. Performance Enhancement Specialist Shannon is the proud co-founder of the GO! Tri Club and founder/owner of GO! Athletics. GO! Athletics specializes in Physiological Testing/Consulting, Sports Performance coaching, Sports Nutrition, Injury Prevention/Rehabilitation, and General Health and Corporate Wellness. Since 2000, Shannon served as the Head Speed, Strength, and Conditioning Coach for the Philadelphia Charge Women’s Professional Soccer Team, Head Strength and Conditioning Coach for the Philadelphia Wings Men’s Professional Lacrosse Team and she currently works as a sports physiologist specializing in Lactate Threshold Testing and consulting for the University of Central Florida, University of Tennessee, Villanova University, US Elite Rowing, and a number of high school, collegiate, professional, and Olympic athletes including the 2008 US Olympic Team Distance coach and 3 time Olympian Hazel Clark-Riley. Shannon earned a full athletic scholarship for track at the University of Florida where she earned her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Exercise Physiology with a minor in Biochemistry/Sports Nutrition. During her studies, she taught anatomy and physiology, exercise physiology, and exercise prescription courses to undergraduates in the Exercise and Sports Sciences Department. The University of Florida also employed Shannon in several departments; Assistant Director of the University Wellness Center’s, undergraduate mentor/tutor, and the American Heart and Lung Association Projects’ Research Assistant. Athletic and academic achievements include All-American Honors in track and field, Academic All-American Honors, and the University Presidents’ Award for academic and athletic excellence. Continuing her love of running, Shannon worked as a Graduate Assistant Coach for the UF Cross Country and Track team. Immediately following graduate school, Shannon worked as an Exercise Physiologist for the United States Olympic Committee at the US Olympic Training Center Chula Vista, CA. Shannon worked with all Olympic sports performing physiological testing, research, and consulting with National team coaches. In 2001, Shannon attended the School of Healing Arts in San Diego and earned a massage therapy license. While studying massage therapy, Shannon was the Head Women’s Cross Country and Track Coach for United States International University in San Diego, CA. Shannon competed professionally for the FILA Discovery USA and PowerBar TeamElite specializing in the 1500m and 5K events. Shannon offers physiological testing, coaching and training services to athletes of all levels competing in triathlon, running, cycling, swimming, and rowing. Shannon competes at the Amateur Elite triathlon level and during the 2009 season won the Avalon Triathlon, Lake Lenape Triathlon, NorthEast Triathlon and the US Age Group championships. In September 2009, Shannon represented TeamUSA triathlon at the 2009 ITU World Sprint Triathlon Championships in Australia and placed 9th. She is also the proud mom of 2-year old Grady David Magrogan. Patty Heppelmann
Patty Heppelmann is excited to be a co-founder of the Go! Tri Club. Patty has been an avid recreational runner for over 15 years. She began her involvement in fitness as an AFAA certified aerobic and fitness instructor, teaching hi-impact and step class aerobics and working with weight training clients. After graduating from Villanova University, Patty ran with the Fast Tracks running club in Valley Forge before marrying and moving to Chester Springs. She ran the NYC marathon in 1998. While continuing to run between 2000 and 2006, Patty spent most of her free time raising her four children, ages 4 through 9. Through this time, she consistently placed in the top 3 in her age group/overall in 5k and 10k races.
Recently, Patty ran the 2008 Chicago Marathon (qualifying for Boston) and various half marathons and 10 milers. Patty started competing in triathlons in 2008 after beginning to swim and bike as a way to add variety to her fitness. Since then, she has found a love for the sport and has competed in Sprint, Olympic and Half Ironman distances, including the Columbia Olympic and Eagleman Half-Ironman races. Recent accomplishments in her age group are first places in the Danskin/Sherox series sprint triathlon and the Philadelphia half-marathon. Patty also participated in the Multiple Sclerosis City to Shore bike event riding 75 miles in October, 2009.
Currently, Patty is focusing her training on Olympic distance triathlons and 10K to half marathon road races. She participates in a weekly triathlon swim class at the UMLY and trains at theYMCA in both Eagleview and Lionville. Nicole (McMaster) Krafchick Master of Physical Therapy (MPT) |
